Akshay Kumar-starrer GOLD saw a huge drop on day two. With the weekend round the corner, distributors from around the country share their expectations and predictions for the film in their respective circuits as well as pan-India.
Debashish Dey, West Bengal
GOLD saw a drop yesterday due to heavy rains and also because yesterday was a regular working day. The film collected around Rs 60 lakh here. This film will not see a fall in its collections but I don’t think Friday’s numbers will be any different from those of yesterday. In fact, there might be a rise of 10-15 per cent.
Jeetu Khandelwal, Orissa
I think the film will earn more today than it did yesterday as it is public holiday here today. Yesterday’s collections were Rs 8 lakh and they should increase by 20 per cent in my circuit today. The evening and night shows will pick up.
B H Basha, Mysore
GOLD collected Rs 45 lakh yesterday. I think the numbers will be similar today too. They may be slightly higher today, thanks to the evening and night shows. Pan-India, the film will earn Rs 7-8 crore today as well.
Shakshi Mehra, Delhi
The morning and noon shows of GOLD were all right today but the evening and night shows might pick up. On a Friday, the film should collect not more that Rs 9 crore. Yesterday’s collections here were Rs 1.75 crore and today should see an increase of 10-15 per cent.
Sarang Chandak, CP
There is a 10-per cent drop here compared to yesterday but this 10-per cent drop will be made up for by the evening and night shows. GOLD has good reports so the collections might go up at the weekend.
Sunil Bansal, Rajasthan
GOLD was expected to perform much better on day one than it actually did. It has fared way below expectations on day two. Although the film collected a whopping amount pan-India yesterday, there will be a drop in its collections today. The film’s collections today, across India, may be slightly more than those of Satyameva Jayate. The difference between the two films may be around Rs 1-2 crore.
