After a decent beginning on Friday, Simmba saw humongous business on Sunday, surprising everyone, as positive word-of-mouth worked for the film. Distributors across India reveal their expectations from the film during the week.
Brijesh Tondon, Distributor, Delhi-UP
Simmba performed amazingly on Sunday. The film was expected to do well in single screens but on the first day of its release, footfalls were very low in single screens. However, Sunday saw bumper business for the film, which is performing better in multiplexes than in single screens. Occupancy is quite good today. Since tomorrow is January 1st, most people have a holiday, which is good for the film’s business.
Gaurav Ruparel, Distributor, Saurashtra
The film’s collections till Sunday were Rs 1.43 crore here, which is amazing. After a slow start, the film picked up well at the weekend. Also, there is a good buzz around the film, which will likely perform very well today and tomorrow. Also, there are no releases other than Simmba, and this will further boost the movie’s business.
Debashish Dey, Distributor, West Bengal
The weekend proved to be very good for Simmba. Even though it started slow, the film picked up well due to positive word-of-mouth. But the opening was not as good as the buzz suggested. The film was expected to work in single screens but surprisingly business has been better in multiplexes and its performance improved every day. Today’s night shows might be a little dull because it is New Year’s eve but today’s evening shows will be good and tomorrow’s business will be humongous.
Sarang Chandak, Distributor, CP
The weekend was amazing for Simmba, and today’s performance will be just like it was on Friday, which is very good. The film is working amazingly at multiplexes. Tomorrow is January 1 and the film will most likely do better business than it will have done today. Let’s see what Wednesday holds for the film.
Ravi Machchar, Distributor, Nizam
Simmba saw a strong weekend in my territory, and an especially strong Sunday. Today’s performance will be equivalent to Friday. Tomorrow, since many people will have a holiday, the film will do good business. Let’s hope it does good business over the coming weekdays considering the buzz and strong word-of-mouth.
Sunil Bansal, Distributor, Rajasthan
Simmba is performing very well in my circuit. The weekend was superb here, especially in multiplexes. Even today’s collections have not witnessed a drop. If the film holds this steadily, it should touch Rs 140-150 crore by the end of this week.
Rajesh Thadani, Distributor, Mumbai
Business is very good for Simmba, which picked up amazingly in multiplexes at the weekend. The film is likely to do very well today as well as tomorrow due to the holiday mood. It has the potential to touch Rs 200 crore.
