Actress turned MP Nusrat Jahan has been offered to play the lead role in a film starring Jeet and Abir Chatterjee. Titled Asur, the film directed by Pavel is a tribute to sculptor Ramnikar.
In an interview with a leading daily, the Pavel revealed some details of the film. He said, “Asur is my tribute to Ramkinkar Baij. Despite being a genius, Ramkinkar has largely remained unsung and even misunderstood. Through my film, I want to show the challenges that a true artiste faces during his journey in life. We will be holding elaborate art workshops before we begin shooting in August. Ananda Adhya will be doing the art direction for Asur. In terms of budget, we are mounting this film in a big fashion. Asur,by no means, is a small film. “
He even talked about Nusrat being in the film. He said, “She has untapped potential that should be explored in the interest of cinema. She is a perfect professional and knows how to manage her time well to be able to balance all her commitments. When I read out the script to Nusrat and Abirda, both described it as a ‘simplified complex film. Jeetda will have a unique look in Asur that will be revealed later. Nachiketa and Amit-Ishan are composing for my film. “
Reportedly, the film will be shot in Bolpur and Kolkata and is expected to release by the end of this year.
