This year hasn't been good for the Indian film industry as the cycle of losing great personalities seems to be never-ending. This Wednesday morning (August 29) also started on a sad note for the people of the country as we lost another great actor and a prolific politician, Nandamuri Harikrishna in a massive car accident. The incident happened in the early hours of the morning (August 29), when Harikrishna was driving to a wedding of a fan in Kavali.
The accident took place on the Narketpally-Addanki highway in Nalgonda district. From what we hear, the car possibly crashed into a road median on Nalgonda Highway. Officials also added that the car was moving at a high speed and when it hit the median, Harikrishna was thrown out of the driver’s seat. He fell on the road and received serious head injuries, which resulted in serious blood loss. He was rushed to Kamineni hospital where he was declared dead at 7:30 am. A startling video from the accident site shows Harikrishna lying unconscious on the road. And this surely is a saddening news for all of us.
Harikrishna will always be remembered for his skilled act as a child artist and an amazing team member of TDP. He served as a minister in Chandrababu Naidu's cabinet in the late 1990s. He had lost his son, Janakiram, in a road accident on the same Nalgonda stretch in 2014. His other son Junior NTR survived an accident here in 2009. We at Box Office India pay our condolences to the family. Stay tuned for more updates.
