Veteran actor Om Puri passed away after succumbing to a massive heart attack, at the age of 66 today. One of the most versatile actors in Bollywood, Puri’s illustrious career spanned over four decades and over 250 movies. He debuted in a Marathi film, Ghashiram Kotwal. Among his other notable works are Ardh Satya, Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Mirch Masala, Dharavi, Bhavni Bhavnai, Sadgati, Maachis and Gidh, Chachi 420, Malamaal Weekly, Hera Pheri and Maqbool. A graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, Puri was also an alumnus of the 1973 class of the National School of Drama. He featured in crossover films such as East Is East, Charlie Wilson’s War, Wolf and The Ghost And The Darkness. Among the most recent ones are OMG: Oh My God, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and the recent release Mirzya. He was shooting for Salman Khan’s Tubelight.
