Smaller films are taking the brunt of the roller-coaster ride of release dates that is plaguing Bollywood right now. Every week, we see films shifting from one Friday to another and, now, we have another film whose date will have to move.
The Sunny Singh and Sonnalli Seygall starrer, Jai Mummy Di, which was announced a few months ago, was ready and gearing for a July 12 release. Now, as a plethora of films has landed on the same date, including Hrithik Roshan’s long-awaited Super 30, we hear that Jai Mummy Di will have to look for a new date to release in theatres.
While the makers try to figure out a free Friday in an already packed year, we wonder what will happen to the smaller gems if they keep getting overshadowed by the bigger ones.
