Password teaser: This Dev and Parambrata Chattopadhyay starrer gives a reality check on cyber attack and virtual reality

Cyber attack. Cyber crime. Virtual reality. This is what Password is all about. The makers unveiled the teaser of the Kamaleswar Mukherjee directorial today. The intriguing teaser opens with the line - ‘Time is ticking and time is speaking that there isn’t much time’. Montages of the city of Kolkata are juxtaposed with scenes where the characters are seen asking us some pertinent questions. Do we look at the front camera of our mobile phones while clicking selfies? Have we ever thought of the importance of the face camera on ATM machines? Which social media site is our latest identity?

Questions are also raised on the importance of the hashtag and the importance that online games like PubG, Blue Whale, Momo and Angry Birds with data-driven augmented reality graphics have come to assume in our lives.

The teaser is also peppered with real footages of people obsessing over virtual reality. Neon lighting and an electrifying background score add to the thrill. Popular Bangla rock song Prithibita naki composed by rock band Moheener Ghoraguli whose opening line roughly translates to 'The world has shrunk down, tangled between satellite and cable wires and trapped within the drawing room's idiot box' is a part of the teaser and largely sets the tone of the film.

The trailer of Password will be out soon. The film stars Dev, Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Paoli Dam, Rukmini Maitra and Adrit. The Dev Entertainment Ventures Pvt Ltd and Echo Entertainment Pvt Ltd project is produced by Gurupada Adhikari and Sandeep Agarwal. Password is slated for a Durga Puja 2019 release.
