Bollywood’s chocolate boy, Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for his next release Kabir Singh in which he will be seen in an altogether different avatar. He will be playing the character of an alcoholic surgeon. Earlier, the filmmakers also dropped a one-minute video of Shahid's character which has left us curious.

In a recent interview with a daily the actor revealed how difficult it was to switch from his onscreen avatar to off-screen avatar and to become a perfect father in his personal life.

Talking about his role, Kapoor says, "It was almost schizophrenic because the two worlds are such contrasts. Had I been single, living alone, I might immerse myself in this dark zone for six months like I did during Udta Punjab. But this time I am married, a father, so I had to sanitise myself before returning home to protect my children from the negative energy. I couldn’t carry Kabir’s emotional baggage back so I had to flip roles after packup.”

Expressing his feelings on marriage and fatherhood, he told, “I never thought I deserved something so good. God has been kind”

The film also features Kiara Advani. Directed by Sandeep Vanga, the film is the remake of his own Telugu film Arjun Reddy. Produced by T-series and Cine1 Studio Productions, Kabir Singh will release on June 21.
