Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson's 2.0 is one of the most eagerly awaited films and after several delays, it has finally got a release date. Last evening, director Shankar confirmed that 2.0 would release on November 29, when he tweeted, "Hi everyone. atlast the vfx companies promised the final delivery date of the vfx shots. The movie will release on nov 29th 2018. #2Point0." While every movie buff would jump with joy that the film is finally releasing this year, not everyone from the industry will be happy. This is because Sara Ali Khan - Sushant Singh Rajput's Kedarnath is releasing on November 30. So Rajinikanth - Akshay Kumar will be battling with Sushant and Sara at the box office over that weekend!
Though two big films can release on the same day and co-exist well, we feel that 2.0 will get a larger screen space and affect Kedarnath. The buzz around 2.0 is huge and with so many superstars associated with it along with the fact that it is being released on such a large scale, we are sure people are going to flock to the theatres to watch it. In fact, it is the only current film that can give Baahubali 2 a run for it's money. Obviously, Kedarnath has an audience too, but we feel the movie, in fact no other film, can clash with 2.0 and still earn a huge amount of money. So either Abhishek Kapoor (Kedarnath director) and team will have to postpone/prepone their release or stand to lose out on some money at the box office. What do you guys think - will the mega clash between 2.0 and Kedarnath take place? Or will it be averted? That's something we will have to wait and watch out for!
Directed by Shankar and produced by Lyca Productions, 2.0 is the sequel to Tamil hit, Enthiran (Robot). Kedarnath, on the other hand, is based on the deadly floods that took place in the holy town if Kedarnath. Directed by Abhishek Kapoor and produced by RSVP Movies and Guy in the Sky Pictures, the film is Sara Ali Khan's debut film. Anyway, stay tuned to Box Office India as we get you all the updates about 2.0 and Kedarnath right here.
