2018-19 is a very special time for Superstar Rajinikanth's fans. It is not often that you have not one but three releases from the actor in a span of 12 months. And each film is so different proving that even in his sixties, the actor can give any of the younger actors a run at the box office.
With Kaala Pa. Ranjith gave us a stylish Rajinikanth, but packaged in a contemporary and socially relevant set up. In 2.0 Shankar recreated the Chitti magic of Enthiran in all his 3D glory. And Karthik Subbaraj with Petta seems to have geared up for a dose of vintage Rajinikanth with all the mass elements that we have seen him in his movies of the 80s and 90s.
The trailer of the movie came out today and it leaves you #Rajinified! Check out the trailer right here:
Mass action scenes, punch dialogues, cute romance sequences... there seems to be a little bit of everything in the trailer and hopefully it will translate in the movie as well. The music of the film has already been well received and this writer personally thinks that it is one of Anirudh's best albums.
Petta produced by Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner stars Simran and Trisha as the female leads. The cast also includes Bobby Simha, Vijay Sethupathi and Sasikumar. Bollywood's Nawazuddin Siddiqui makes his South Indian movie debut with this movie.
Petta is all set to make a sweet Pongal debut at the box office on January 10, 2019.
