After almost a year of treatment in New York, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor is back in Mumbai. He was in the Big Apple, along with wife, Neetu Kapoor, undergoing treatment for cancer. During his stay there, Bollywood celebrities such as Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Sonali Bendre along with husband Goldie Behl and sister-in-law Shrishti Behl Arya, Anupam Kher, Boman Irani, Vicky Kaushal, Deepika Padukone, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa among others met the Kapoors and spent some time with them.
In a recent interview with a news channel, Rishi Kapoor opened up on his wife being a pillar of support for him over the past one year. "She has been a rock of Gibraltar, really really supported me without her I wouldn't be not getting anywhere," he said.
To this, Neetu Kapoor said, "It's like I told you he became like my child and I wanted to do everything in my power that he should not be in pain, he should get whatever he wants."
In another interview, he revealed that he cannot wait to get back to acting. "I feel very fresh and geared up to do any kind of work. My batteries are all charged and I’m looking forward to facing the camera. I just hope I haven’t forgotten acting. Right now, I don’t know if my work will be welcomed or if people are going to trash me. When I was going through treatment, I had a few blood transfusions. And I told Neetu that I hope with the new blood, I haven’t forgotten acting."
He also talked about his children, Ranbir Kapoor and Riddhima Kapoor Sahni have supported him through the last few months and have ably shouldered his problems.
Rishi Kapoor was last seen in Jhootha Kahin Ka that released in July. The actor will reunite with Juhi Chawla after a decade for an untitled film. The film, which was left incomplete in 2018, is a family comedy and will be directed by newcomer, Hitesh Bhatia.
We are happy to have him back!
