Ali Abbas Zafar directorial Bharat that released on June 5 has broken the record of the magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion by earning Rs 42.10 crore on its day one. Fans of Salman Khan were waiting with bated breath for this film and that reflected in the massive opening. It has now entered in the top three all-time highest grossers as far as day one is concerned.
The Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif-starrer stands at the second position after Aamir Khan's Thugs Of Hindostan (TOH) among the all-time highest grossers of day one. TOH had collected Rs 47.28 crore on the day of its release; 12 per cent higher than that of Bharat. On the other hand, Bharat’s biusiness is approximately four per cent higher than the second installment of Baahubali.
Interestingly, the films that are in the fourth and fifth position following Baahubali feature Khan in the lead - Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and Sultan. This makes three films of Khan positioned among the all-time top five highest day one grossers. No mean feat this!
