We have known Sayani Gupta wowing the audience with her acting prowess in films like Parched, Jolly LLB 2, Margarita With A Straw and most recently, Article 15 along with web series like Four More Shots Please! and the web film, Posham Pa. While the actor is giving great performances, she also takes time out to be a part of causes that are close to her heart.
In the midst of her busy shooting schedule she flew to Delhi to attend a special art exhibit, SHAPE organised by her brother, Probir Gupta who teaches utilitarian pottery to underprivileged children. The self-funded project will showcase art created by the children along with well-known professional artistes.
Over the years, he has taught batches of more than twenty children and some of them have endeavoured to become skilled potters while some have had to quit their learning in pursuit of other job opportunities as they turned adults. Currently, he is mentoring three girls and a boy with autism, all of whom are in ninth grade.
Sayani has championed this cause and is encouraging others to do so. “I am so proud and happy to be a part of this cause. It is very important to bring efforts like this into the limelight to create awareness. Probit really works hard for his charitable cause and if I can come and support it in any way I can, it is my honour.”
