Here’s a treat for all Shah Rukh Khan fans! No, there is no film announcement yet. But the King of Bollywood is set to be part of Disney’s live-action magnum opus, The Lion King. Joining Khan will be his 21-year-old son, Aryan Khan.
While the superstar will be the voice for Lion Mufasa, the king of the jungle in the Hindi version of the animated film, Aryan will lend his voice to Mufasa’s son and the lead character, Simba.
In a statement, the Zero actor said, "As a father, I can totally relate with Mufasa and the endearing relationship he shares with his son Simba. The legacy of Lion King is timeless; and being a part of this iconic re-imagining with my son Aryan makes it extra special for me. We are most excited that AbRam is going to watch this.”
Yesterday, the actor took to social media and shared a picture of him and Aryan gearing up to watch India versus Pakistan in the 2020 cricket World Cup from Manchester. The father-son duo was seen sporting team India jerseys with Mufasa and Simba written over them. Check the post here:
Bikram Duggal, Head - Studio Entertainment, Disney India, said, "We cannot imagine having a better voice cast than Shah Rukh Khan and his son Aryan to bring the characters of Mufasa and Simba to life in Hindi.”
For those who do not know, Shah Rukh and Aryan had lent their voices in the Hindi version of The Incredibles titled Hum Hain Lajawab that released in 2004. King Khan was the voice for Mr Lajawab and Aryan voiced for Tez. We are sure that The Lion King is going to be an interesting collaboration too!
