Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani starrer Shershaah will be shot in Kargil next where the two actors will also celebrate the Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26. As per reports, Sidharth will be staying on in Kargil for a month while Kiara will shoot her portions and return.
The film is based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, who fought valiantly in the India Pakistan war in 1999 and was posthumously awarded the Paramvir Chakra. Sidharth and Kiara had commenced the shoot for the film from Captain Vikram Batra’s hometown Chandigarh where the two met with the family of the national hero and also went through old photo albums to get more insights about the character. Sidharth and Kiara then headed to Dharamshala for another schedule.
As per the report, the two will also spend some time with the soldiers. The celebration this year marks the 20th Anniversary of the Kargil War and hence, it will be a special occasion for everyone. Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated to honour the war heroes who died fighting for their country in Operation Vijay. The celebrations will take place between July 25-27.
Directed by Vishnu Varadhan, the film is produced by Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Hiroo Johar, Shabbir Boxwala, Ajay Shah and Himanshu Gandhi under the banner of Dharma Productions.
