The first quarter as well as half the second quarter of 2019 has passed and we already have many hits in our bucket. Among all those releases, we had many content driven films as well as massy films. A week now has passed to one such massy film, Student Of The Year 2 (SOTY2), which performed decently well at the box office in its first week by collecting Rs 56.63 crore.
However, if we compare the footfalls of the Tiger Shroff-starrer with the first massy film of this year in the top four cinema chains, URI: The Surgical Strike, with regard to footfalls, the former is just 58 per cent of the latter. Both the films are non-holiday releases but URI was a universal film while SOTY2 had a target audience of youngsters.

Among the top four cinema chains of India, PVR stands at the number one position and is followed by Inox, Carnival and Cinepolis. In PVR, SOTY 2 footfalls are approximately 65 per cent that of URI, in INOX they are approximately 58 per cent that of URI; in Carnival they are approximately 55 per cent that of URI, and in Cinepolis they are approximately 48 per cent that of URI.
