AR Murugadoss is joining hands with Superstar Rajinikanth for the first time for the film Darbar. The film will see the actor return to his cop role after nearly 25 years. The 167th film of the actor is currently being shot in Mumbai.
The film is largely set in Mumbai, which is very well revealed in the first poster of the film that was released a few days ago. The actor who was in Mumbai a few days ago to shoot for the film, returned to Chennai to vote during the General Elections. Now he is back and we have some pictures of the Superstar taken when he reached Mumbai. Check out the pics here:
Some portions of the film will be shot in Mumbai, but major portions will be shot in a set in Chennai which will replicate the city. The film also stars Prateik Babbar. This is the first time that Prateik is acting in a Tamil film, though he has acted in remakes of South films... Ekk Deewana Tha and Baaghi 2.
The leading lady of the film is Nayanthara who acted with Rajinikanth as his heroine in Chandramukhi, way back in 2005. What is interesting is that this is Nayanthara's second film with Murugadoss, who directed her in the Suriya-Asin starrer Ghajini.
The film is produced by Allirajah Subaskaran under the Lyca Productions banner, which produced Rajinikanth's 2.0. Darbar will release in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi during Pongal, 2020.
