The Countdown Begins

Show began from yesterday, now it is to see if the audience accepts or rejects

Today is the day when the World Cup mania will come to an end and yesterday witnessed release of two movies after a hiatus – Vashu Bhagnani’s F.A.L.T.U. and Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Game.

Game started on the slow note and as everyone knows, today, not many people would go to the theatre but instead keep themselves busy with the small screen, watching the World Cup final. Tomorrow, Sunday, will be an acid test for Game and will decide its fate at the ticket window. It wasn’t a surprise for tradewallahs as F.A.L.T.U. took a very good start everywhere and fantastic at metro cities.

All eyes are glued for the next week’s release Thank You. It is going to be an acid test for Akshay Kumar as well as director Anees Bazmee. However, most of the tradewallahs believe that the publicity is not at par for this kind of a big film. Since the publicity is very poor, the awareness is also less. And it’s unanimous now that if the content is good then only the film will survive or else it may tank. Everyone is keeping their fingers crossed, so are we.

On the other hand, though the publicity again is poor for Dum Maaro Dum, the title song and the first theatrical teaser (mainly amongst the urban audience) have created a good buzz around the film. Also most of the tradewallahs believe that going by the theme of the film and also being an actioner, it will also get good patronage in B and C class.

There’s uncertainty over the release date of Vikram Bhatt’s Haunted – 3D. Though it’s been announced that the film is expected to release on May 6, many people in trade believes that there’s very little time left to promote the film. The theatrical promos that’s been shown and that are also available on various sites have failed to lure. According to the tradewallahs, be it Raaz or 1920, Vikram Bhatt is obsessed with a haveli and a possessed girl, here too he’s doing the same – going by the trailer. Only saving grace or call it different here is that this film is in 3D.

The curiosity for Salman Khan’s next release Ready is growing up. And the same can be said about Ajay Devgn’s actioner (after a long time), Singham. Both the movies are gaining good feedbacks from the tradewallahs.

Though, not a single frame of Bodyguard has been leaked or introduced to the tradewallahs, still, considering it will be Salman Khan’s next Eid release after Wanted and Dabangg – everyone is optimistic about its fate. But everyone maintains one thing that if the film would manage to break the record of Dabangg or no, they can predict only once they see the trailer.

The same is being said about Hrithik Roshan’s remake of Agneepath. Though Jr Roshan’s look is not out but everyone is optimistic about this film. However, the true picture will only emerge once his look is out and also when the trailer is introduced.

Talking about trailers, the trailer of Ra.One is making waves and expectations are only growing from this extravaganza. On the other hand, SRK’s look from Don 2 is been accepted by one and all and it, indeed, is one of the hottest project of this year.
