Two holiday releases, Bharat and Kesari, both had high footfalls but a different pattern-read details

When good film with strong star value gets released on a holiday, is tends to rake in more numbers at the box office than usual. Here we have two such films of 2019 that have star power as well as a holiday release along with good content. One is the Akshay Kumar-starrer Kesari that released during the festival of Holi, on March 21, 2019 and the other one is Salman Khan-starrer Bharat that released during the festival of Eid, on June 5, 2019. The former one was released on a Thursday and the latter one was released on a Wednesday, getting an eight-day week and a nine-day week respectively.

If we look at the first week admit of both the films, there is a big difference in the numbers making Bharat approximately 35 per cent higher than that of Kesari. But if we avoid the holidays, and just consider the regular week, from Friday to Thursday, the difference is hardly two per cent approximately. Below given table shows the first week admit (footfalls) of Bharat and Kesari in top four cinema chains of India - PVR, Inox, Carnival and Cinepolis.
