We have had films with the same title in the past, but they are usually films made at different times. It does not happen that two films announced just a few days apart end up having the same name. But this has happened.
Sivakarthikeyan’s film under the KJR Studios banner was announced on March 13 as Hero. On May 19, Vijay Deverakonda’s film under the Mythri Movie Makers banner was announced as Hero. Now what is interesting is that Vijay’s film is being planned as a multi-lingual and will most probably release simultaneously in all four South Indian languages.
Will the makers of Vijay film change the name when it releases in Tamil? Which hero will retain the Hero title? We will have to wait and watch how this unfolds.
