The first season of Ekta Kapoor's Kasautii Zindagii Kay was one of the few forces that changed the face of Indian television. The show shot Ronit Roy aka Mr Bajaj to fame and he became one of the most iconic television characters ever. The second season of the television drama that began airing in September last year has also been garnering a lot of eyeballs.
There were rumours doing the rounds for quite some time that Roy will reprise the character of Mr Bajaj in the second season of the show. In an interview with a daily, he rubbished the conjectures and said, "The fans wanted me to play Bajaj. I am grateful for the love I receive from my fans but from the fans of Kasautii per se, I will request them to not judge by comparing. In fact not judge at all. It is only for entertainment. It is foolish of us to compare a Parth Samthaan with a Cezanne Khan. We were a different set of people in a different time zone. This is 15 years down the line, it's a different generation. Their storytelling has changed. "
It is now being reported that Karan Singh Grover will play Mr Bajaj in the latest season of Kasautii Zindagii Kay. Talking about Grover, he said, "Karan Singh Grover is a good cast. He is much younger than me, probably half my age. But he is a very talented actor. I am sure he will do justice to the role but his way of portrayal will be different."
On the work front, Ronit Roy will be seen on Hotstar Special, Hostages, a thriller co-starring Tisca Chopra, Dalip Tahil and Aashim Gulati.
