Due to coronavirus pandemic, Ranveer Singh starrer 83 which was all set to release on April 10, has put the release date of the film on hold. But as per the reports, the makers of the film are planning to release 83 on June 25, which marks the same date when India had won the World Cup in the year 1983.
“June 25 is a special day as that’s when India lifted the world cup 37 years back by defeating the West-Indies cricket team at Lords. No better occasion to relive the moment than this day. It’s as if destiny wanted the film to arrive on this particular day,” revealed a source
The source also revealed that they will announce the date of the film when there is absolute safety for all the viewers to start visiting the cinema halls. The source also opened up that the movie will not be released if there is even 1 percent scare among the audience.
The 83 cast includes Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Jiiva, Saqib Saleem, Jatin Sarna, Chirag Patil, Dinker Sharma, Nishant Dahiya, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar, Ammy Virk, and Boman Irani.
Ranveer Singh will see playing the character of former world cup winning captain Kapil Dev and Deepika Padukone will be portraying the character of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi Dev.
The film is directed by Kabir Khan and is slated to release in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
